I think some of Rivers' comments were reprehensible. Although, I am for consolidation, I also think that the threats got to Luntsford. Well, I guess all is over but for the SB to decide what they want to do. I don't particularly like the 2 on 1 site either. I just don't like all the kids on on campus. I wish they would have voted for a better plan, such as a 3 on 3 plan. If you are gonna spend that much money, then go ahead and build 3.

Now, how many studies, hearings, etc., will it take for everyone to agree on a site??????
I felt sorry for Fred Luntsford.

    Re: Board of Supervisors Tonite?

    Random Thoughts on This:

If you have the ability to buy property, go to Norton and buy, buy, buy!

Lundsford and Shortt will lose re-election by a landslide if anybody runs against them.

J.H., Betty, Ted, and Virginia all have seen the last of their good days in Big Stone Gap politics.

30 years from now the entire county (minus Wise do the college) will be like Webber City and Lynn Garden, just a bump in the road to get to the real town.

The towns of Appalachia, Coeburn, and Pound will for all economic purposes cease to exist in my lifetime.

Did Fred vote for the 2 on 1 site. And if he did, what kind of logic is that. You face closure, period, so, instead of busing your kids 2 miles to Big Stone, you send them 15 miles up the mountain thru the fog. Thats real intelligent. All I can say is that when, and it will be when, some kid gets killed on the way to school, because of the fog, then its all on those who voted for this nonsense. Looks like Lee High will benefit from this. Just 2 miles to the Lee line to catch a bus.

Fred voted for 2 on 1. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't see some type of action taken by Big Stone Gap to attempt to retain a school. (Not saying I agree or disagree with this)
